Perfect Treats for Little Pilots

My daughters year end dance recital is coming up. Their dance routine is called The Pilots and they dance to a number that goes "... we're flying in an airplane looking out the window watching the clouds go by..."

I wanted to make a sweet inexpensive treat for all the girls in class for their last lesson next week. I had seen Sweet-tart rolls at the dollar store and thought I could wrap them in cloud themed DP - like their costumes.

I did a search on Splitcoaststampers for candy wrappers and found a cute example using life saver candy rolls and streamer out the top found here. Then I remembered that my friend Kerry J @ Cards by Kerry had done some sort of candy wrapper for her son's classmates for Valentine's, but couldn't quite remember what it was.

Kerry had made these adorable little airplanes using sticks of gum (like Juicy Fruit), life savers and rolled candies (like Rockets or US Smarties) held together with small rubber bands (Kerry's sample). I found the instructions for these treats here.

I don't advocate gum for kids my daughters age, but these darn treats were too cute to pass up.

You don't have to re-wrap these babies like I did either because all gum packages like this come with white paper all ready for your favorite stamp. Not a lot of work needed at all.

This card was inspired by a sample I saw at my SU Demonstrator's house (Jennifer Tinline). I love that she used the Top Note die to create an evening bag and had to try one myself.

The purse was done by using the SU Top Note Die cut on double sided paper. However I used two cuts and merged the pieces together

I made this little purse quite some time ago, but never got around to assembling a card face until this evening.

Stamps: SU - Pocket Silhouette : sentiment
Paper: SU - Washington Apple, Riding Hood Red, Bashful Blue, Summer Sun
Ink: SU - Ruby Red
Accessories: SU - scallop punch & top note die, dollar store looped ribbon & brad, SU - Bashful blue ribbon, Cuddlebug emboss folder

Scholastic Clip Art

Last week my daughter and I went to visit her Junior Kindergarten teacher for next September. I wanted to send a thank-you card for the tour and for the lovely goody bag they sent home with my daughter.

I haven't yet purchased any scholastic themed sets so I used a free clip art image and computer generated sentiment.

I had originally sponged red around the image frame, but didn't like the results so cut out the image and placed it on a new image window. I like this result much much better.

Details:
Stamps: free clip art image, computer generated sentiment
Paper: DCWV - Fall Matstack, Michaels blue and red cardstock
Ink: Tombows
Accessories: paper hole punch

Home Sweet Freebie SC232

Yes another freebie this one from D.A.I.S.I.E. Company Digital scrapping site found here. It is a Christmas image, but I'm pretending it's not. The layout is for yesterday's sketch challenge at SplitCoastStampers SC232.

I was really enjoying this image the way it was coloured until I added the yellow on the roof, it's too over powering. Oh well, you need to learn when to edit I suppose.

Details:

Stamps: D.A.I.S.I.E Co. x-mas freebie, computer generated sentiment
Ink: Tombows, gray Copic
Paper: Minds Eye, SU: Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie, Michaels pink cardstock
Accessories: Making Memories grommets, SU scallop punch, Cuttlebug emboss folder, skittles

Hambo Cutie

I found this adorable & free down-loadable image from Hambo Stamps by Tim Hunter, found here. Tim has some great inexpensive images for sale at his Etsy Shop. I also found some amazing and inexpensive images from Dustin Pike at Dragon Doodle Studio.

I love both Tim & Dustin's images, I can't decide which one I want to buy first, I want them all. I am leaning towards Dustin dragon in the inner tube. His new release with the monster is fabulous too.

I dug through my paper and found some of my old white card stock that works with my Tombows so was able to colour again. Ahh, I missed colouring, paper piecing was getting old.
