RC Dudley - May SFYTT

I played along with the Doodle Dragon Challenge over at Dustin Pike's Blog - Dudley and his Power Wheels. This challenge was to use the free RC Dudley image and let your imagination go wild. I paired the adorable Dudley image colored in Copics, with Echo Park - Little Boy DP, and used two lace doily mat SVG's from MyGraphico.com.

I used May's Sketch For You To Try from iheart2stamp. They have such fun layouts there, I can't help, but give them a go.

The sentiment "Got Game" is Studio G Clear Stamps mounted on a Cuddle Bug Tag die cut. A red stitched ribbon and button detail finish it all off.

SC Sketch Challenge & A Hippo

I couldn't wait to colour in this adorable digital image from Doodle Dragon Studios. I coloured the Hippo using C5, C3 & C1 & 0. I paper pieced her swim suit and bow with SU DP - I think Apricot, then added the white polka dots with a gel pen. The puppy is popped up with dimensional's.

This is for Wednesday's weekly Sketch Challenge at Splitcoaststampers SC330, see here for sketch.

I decided to try out a new technique for the background of my images. After reviewing many Tutorials, I tried out a few different methods. I did the dot/blend method using Copics, although I have a few Prisma pencils, I don't have any Gamsol, so I decided to dig out my water colour paints. It will take a little practice, but I like the effect.

The DP is My Minds Eye, SU - DS Old Olive and plaid from my scrap drawer. I have been trying to make an honest effort to use more from my scrap drawers, they are getting full. But new paper is so much fun!

I added a polka dot ribbon and bow as well as a folder tab with a computer generated sentiment "Oops... !" The inside reads "Sorry I missed your special day!"

Colored Monster Party N Boots

"Knock-Knock. Who can it be? Won't you come in to my Monster Partyyyyyy? Open the door and let's hear you roar - ROAR!" Chorus - Monster Party by Splash'N Boots.

I played along with the Party In Color Challenge over at Dustin Pike's blog. The task was to incorporate 2 of the colors from Dustin's blog header and a Doodle Dragon image in a party themed craft . I chose Dudley green and a darker orange found in the paint drippings above the header. I merged "PresentMonsterB" and "BalloonMonsterB" with We're All Goin' to a Monster Party! The banner on the bottom of the page is "Open the door and let's hear you roar!"

Here's the back story: My four year old son adores the singing ensemble Splash'N Boots. His most favorite of all their tunes is "Monster Party". How excited was I to find a Party Monster set included in the new Blogiversary 2 digital release by Doodle Dragon Studio's. Just perfect to immortalize the Splash'N Boots concert from March. This release by the way was over 200 images for only $20 - WOW!

I used artistic license and bent the rules slightly for this challenge. Technically I didn't make a Birthday themed craft, but the Splash'N Boots concerts are certainly a party for my little guy. As well I may have gone brighter with my 2 blog banner color choices, particularly the orange. Hopefully that will not disqualify me. It was a fun challenge none the less and the largest image I have colored with Copics, so it was great practice. As well it was the first time I ever merged digi's. Photoshop is so much fun!

This last Splash'N Boots show in March, my son won a copy of their new CD for dancing so excitedly during their new single "For the Love of Dance". He now thinks their new song was written specifically for him. The funniest part of his dancing is that he try's to keep his pants up at the same time, but grabs his pants at the thighs. So he basically pulls his pant up to be floods and jumps up and down excitedly mosh pit style. It puts me in stitches every time, it is so funny!

DP: Echo Park - "Little Boy" DP package
Ink: Copics
Accessories: dark blue heart grommets.

Pike's Fairie

I know I know - another Birthday card and yes another Dustin Pike. I can't help myself, I picked up a few more Copics recently so have been itching to finally break out some of my Pikes.

I just love this little fairy - GirlFairie1 by Doodle Dragon Studio's. found here. I coloured her with Copics then lightly added Stickles to the wand and wings. The Fairy sentiment is computer generated.

The DP is DCWB - Teen Prints & SU - Delicate Dots, scrap drawer cardstock and Bella Baubles.

Pirate Birthday

I finally go my hands on some X-Press paper from Scrappin Great Deals. It's going to take some getting used to, but I can see it's advantages.

Yes, another birthday card. There have been so many birthday's in my daughters class, it seems like the whole class except for her were born at the end of March. The"Pirate Boy" image is by Dustin Pike - Doodle Dragon Studios.

I coloured the image with Copics and paired it with some retired SU DP. I added some yellow Stickles, dollar store clips and SU ribbon. The sentiment was computer generated.

Fathers Day Feast

With fathers day fast approaching, I needed to whip up 4 cards. I usually send out duplicates to the Father and Father-in-Laws and something separate for my hubby, but this year I scrounged through my sample stamped pack and made individuals for everyone.

Pennyblack Bubbly Critters, DCWV The Fall matchstack dp, SU riding-hood red card stock, Copics, glitter gel pen and Studio G sentiment.

Dustin Pike digital art Fish Fear, coloured with Copics, SU from my scrap drawer and computer generated sentiment.

Stamping Bella beerafella, DCWV The Fall matchstack dp, SU riding-hood red card stock, Copics, glitter gel pen and Studio G sentiment.

The fourth Father's Day card for my hubby I won't post, he peeks at this site occasionally.

Here is one last card of thanks for my daughters Junior Kindergarten teacher.

Pennyblack Bubbly Critters, DCWV Blossoms & Butterflies dp, SU card stock, Copics, glitter gel pen, Studio G sentiment and sticker gems.

Thanks Fishy

I kind of into CAS cards right now. Maybe because they are very easy to make and require less fiddling. I needed to do two Thank You cards for my kids swimming coaches.

I sponged Certainly Celery Not Quite Navy and Bashful Blue onto my Cuddlebug emboss folder then ran a piece of paper on it through the machine. You can't tell in the photo, but the result was sort of a crackle tie die look. Embossing Polka Dots tutorial found here at Embellishmagazine.com.

The image is a digitstamp by Dustin Pike called FishieBowl.

Details:
Ink: Not Quite Navy, Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue, Tombows
Stamp: Dustin Pike: FishieBowl
Paper: SU: Summer Sun, Pumpkin Pie, Not Quite Navy
Embellishments: Stickles, scallop punch, circle punch, coluzzle, ebossing folder
