LMM - Fancy or Lacey

Good Morning and welcome to another Little Miss Muffet Challenge - #29. Today we are making Fancy or Lacey projects.

I nearly choked on my Cheerieo's last week when I popped over to Inspiration post to grab the link and saw that Juliana Herrmann had used the very same images that I had already prepared for this week's challenge. I chalk it up to us both be very clever ;D Not one to waste, I still had to use it, after all it was already coloured up and begging to be made into a card.

MIC - Ivy Window Wall
DCWV - stack pack
button, dollar store flower brads & lace
SU sentiment - Fifth Avenue Floral
Quickutz - Flourish
Now head on over to the Challenge Blog and check out the fab projects my Teamies made.

Submitted for the following challenges:

Crafts and Me - #72 Shades of Spring
Inky Impressions - Bright Colours
The Sisterhood of Crafter's - Getting Digi With It (both images are digi's)
Totally Gorjuss - #119 Lace

Watcha Doin Wryn - New Release

Argh, I am having such camera issues. I am taking photo's and they look fin, all is well, but I upload them and they look dramatically different. Being that I am soooo under the weather, I gave up and my hubby took the photo for me, hence the tall building view angel ;D

Any way, onto a new Wryn release by Tiddy Inks, this is Watcha Doin'? merged with Make It Crafty's - Open Window digi. Check out the Tiddly Inks blog for more awesome samples from the DT's. BTW the Open Window also is available as a rubber stamp.

Quaint Cottage Inspiration Friday

Quick note, this card was chosen as one of the "FAVORITES for the week ending February 19, 2012. on SplitCoaststampers!

You MUST MUST MUST check out the new "Paris" release collaboration by Little Miss Muffet Stamps, Make It Colourful and Whimsy Stamps. All perfectly coordinated, you can buy: rubber stamps, digital stamps, backgrounds, background elements, sentiments, sentiment borders, and laser cut chipboard elements! How can you pass this up.

LMM - Sophia
MIC - Quaint Cottage
DP - Stampin Up
Now that I ranted, here is my Little Miss Muffet inspiration card of the week, and don't forget to check the DT over at the LMM Challenge Blog.
haha, I have to laugh! Barbara of LMM always does a coloured version of each image for her store site. I just popped over to get the linky of Sophia for this post and we coloured our Sophia's in the same outfit colours, even the shoe's. I HONESTLY had not peeked at her colouring before hand. I try not to, so that the colour can be completely unique to me. Same as the MIC cottage, I did not look at Zoe's coloured version first so as not to be influenced before hand.

Apparently I'm on a roll. I just popped over to the Challenge blog and Juliana Herrmann used the exact two images that I merged together for my next challenge, hehe and I have already coloured it too. So much for being original ;D

Submitted for the following challenges:
Make It Colourful - Spring Colours
iCopic Lover - #68 BG Family (BG72, BG13 & BG10: these were a Valentine gift from my hubby, so glad I could use them)

Sexy It Up!

Today is a new Tiddly Inks Challenge! # 75 - Oh La La - Sexy Card to Warm Things Up! Get out your favorite most sexy Tiddly Inks image and join along. As well check out the DT's creations, they are sex-tactular!

Hmm, should I have spelled it "Chickie"??? Oh well, since it's not technically a real word, spelling doesn't count ;D

I am so bummed! On the left side I made this cool ribbon border piece (SVG Slotted Ribbon Border - Images by Heather M) that looked so much like a garter belt, then promptly covered it up with my image and roses so you can barely see it ;D

This is Tiddly Inks - Tainted Gothic Pinup (1 or 2 version) with
Make It Crafty's - Urban Street Elements and a
Computer Generated sentiment - City Burn font by dfont.com

My best friend growing up turns 40 in February as do I, so I thought a card on the Fabulously Forty side was necessary!

I struggled with photographing this card, it was hard to have the true red of her hair not turn pink while keeping the details of the roses.

I raided the next town over's Michael's Crafts store for this card - wish we had one in my town :(
Details:
DP - Posh by Teresa Collins
Roses - Recollections
Gem Flourishes - Recollections
Feathers - my daughters craft cupboard ;D

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Paper Sundaes - Sundae Bar #98 (red & die cut slotted ribbon border)
One Stitch at a Time - #91 Be Square
Alphabet Challenge - V for Very Vibrant
Mark's Finest Papers - Favorite Embellishments (feathers, need to use them more often)

Be sure to check out what the rest of the team has been up to - You won't be disappointed!

Fairy Fae with MIC for Deconstructing Jen

Deconstructing Jen #29 is a fun two week give-away, in honor of Jen's son turning five! I couldn't wait to play along with this fab sketch, and Jen's Design Team will knock your socks off.
I turned the sketch on it's side however to better accommodate my image of Fairy Fae Dreams by Tiddly Inks and Fern Log by Make It Colourful. I printed this up a while ago and have been too busy with Christmas images to finally ink it up with my Copics.
The butterfly border and green circle border are by K & Company, I coloured the butterfly one with E29 because it was actually purple. The DP is Bo Bunny Vicki Collection.

I coloured the fairy wings with my Gelly Roll pen, not sure it shows up well in photo.

This card is entered in the following Challenges:
Deconstructing Jen - Sketch #29
Digi Doodle Shop's Best - #85 Lots of Sparkle (Sparkle Gel Pen in Fairy Fae wings)
Diva's By Design - #16 Anything Goes
Crafting When We Can - Borrow a Sketch

Tidldy Heck of a Challenge

Just a reminder that this post is being "auto published" while I am away with the family camping. I will be back next week to see and comment on all of your gems.

So Christy has thrown us a HUGE challenge over at the Tiddly Inks Challenge blog, at least for me it was a doozy. We had to make a gel / water card. First off, I had NO idea what the heck a gel card even was, so had to go fishing on Google. Good thing we are so good about blog posting, because I finally GOT it. Our own Tiddly Inker - Meredith has this awesome tutorial to show us just how to do it. Of course I had already made my card before seeing her tutorial. TRUST ME her method is WAY easier then the way I made it.

I was trying to think a bit outside the box and not just have a huge circle hole in the middle of my card with a fish showing through some hair gel. NOT that there is any thing wrong with that. I just wanted to think of something else. It was a struggle. Here are a few of the things I considered, a mug of beer, glass of bubbly, lava lamp... hmm... lava lamp that almost won out.

Then I was digging through my paper stash and saw this DP by Echo Park - Big Waves. I instantly envision the cut out / peak a boo wave with TI's - Tanker Fairy Sits floating along on this Sailing Leaf from Make It Crafty. Just perfect for this challenge. Okay, so, it really isn't all that outside of the box, but I avoided a giant hole in the middle of my card, again NOT that there is anything wrong with that.

I had such high hopes for this card, but by the time I was finished, I was COVERED in glue & hair gel and my card was more then a tad sticky everywhere. PLEASE follow Meredith's instructions and save yourself a major headache, my way is TOO messy.

Thanks for to my fellow Tiddly Inkers for suggesting Rangers - Glossy Accents for the water droplets, it worked perfectly. The corner SVG is from Images by Heather M.

Not Normal Hair - Mojo

I know I recently coloured a guitar chick with blue hair, but I decided I could do it better for the Make it Colourful Challenge # 26 - Not normal Hair Colours. I used the gorgeous Annabelle from the Make It Crafty Steampunk release. She reminded me of Moulin Rouge, so I chose a sentiment from one of the songs "My gift is my song." I have seen a few wavy sentiment banners lately and adore them, so I gave it a whirl myself, not that you can see it terribly well from my camera angle.

I used the Mojo Monday Challenge sketch #200, but instead of a bow, I used border edging from K&C.
I love the colours and the Echo Park - Splash DP on this card, but I think it's missing something.

For any one who is striving to improve their colouring abilities like I am, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you try the Make It Colourful challenges. The DT works are incredibly inspirational and I use them often to figure out how to do different techniques. Just zoom in on their image / images and you can get a better look at how they used their markers to create shade, or shine etc. Zoom in on the hair, or the dress or whatever it is that you are trying to master with your colouring. Works for me, any way, and I really do feel like I am improving. I've said it before, it's like taking a free Copics class.

I found it extremely difficult to choose which images to use, they are all so phenomenal. But a girl must choose, so I used Tiddly Inks - Precious, Make It Crafty's - Oliver, Rusty Can House, and the Metallic Flowers.

First off, my clothing is not at all Steampunk or traditional Victorian colours, but I wanted the images to pop out from the background.

Precious Close Up
Oliver Close Up
I used a Flower Frame by SVGcuts.com, but removed the flowers then cut out the two layers of the frame 3 times on cereal box. I did the same with the gears and Sprockets from the Steampunk Gears set by FreeSVGblogspot.com.

The top layer of the frame and the gear works are cut on silver cardstock that I then sponged with copper pigment. I also added rusty dots with E97.

I have to make a special thank you to a few fellow Tiddly Inker's for their help with this project:

Barbara - Forgotten Scraps; for always inspiring me to push my abilities. Her recent posts have challenged me try adding my own folds and creases to clothing for further dimension. She is ridiculously good at it.

Melissa - Melissa Made; for saving me time, money and energy by letting me know what her fave Copic #'s are for rust (E99, E97 & E09).

Donna - Popsicle Toes, for all of her wonderful and inspiring dimensional cards. I had to make a sculptural frame after seeing all of her awesome work.

Copic List (a lot)
House: 0, W0, W1, W3, W5, B000, YG06, YG11, E35, E33, E31, E42, Rust: E99 & E97, E29,
Precious: 0, R27, R22, R20, R00, V12, V04, Y00, Y38, Y15, Y21, E00, E000, E11

Tiddly Inks / Make It Crafty Sneak Peak

Only one more week until the Tiddly Inks & Make It Crafty Steampunk colaboration. You WILL NOT be disappointed. This release is awesome!

Here is a few sneaks of what I created.

Sorry, it's not much, I had permission from Tiddly Inks to do some sneak peaks, not sure about Make It Crafty so I limited my shots to just Tiddly Inks. You have to come back though because the images are so cool.
